Mary "Helen" Snow, age 77 of Primm Springs, TN, passed away on December 7
th,
2017. She was, born to the late Doris Grigg and Ellis Grigg on September 14
th
, 1940. She is also proceeded by her sister Inez Hendricks of Franklin, TN.
Helen graduated from Sentinel High School in 1958 as Valedictorian of her class and excelled in basketball and still holds the highest scoring record to this day. Helen also coached basketball while attending high school to elementary school children. She also attended Oklahoma State University where she majored in Home Economics and Education. While attending Oklahoma State, she met her first husband Larry Wayne McGuire from Hobart, OK and served as US Navy Commanders wife. Helen was an active volunteer in local communities, liberal arts, church activities, Kwana's, and PTA.
Family and friends remember her fondly for her loyal friendship, creativity, and contagious sense of humor above all. She loved the culture of art, reading, panting, drawing, creating plays, and of course her devotion to her "Cheep Cheeries" which were created to lift the spirits of her loved ones. Helen leaves a legacy of extraordinary thoughtfulness, optimism, undeniable strength, and above all; she served as a role model for young girls to senior females who looked up to her.
Helen's first husband passed in September 11
th
, 1992. She worked tirelessly as the "Blueberry Farm Queen" of Pungo, VA. She met and married Roy E Snow in a glorious wedding ceremony to then ride off in a second phase of life on their Harley Davidson motorcycle. They lived, loved, and laughed while growing old together on their beautiful custom log home set on 9 acres with a natural spring fed pond. Helen and Roy enjoyed and embraced their 21 years of blissful marriage prior to her passing.
Helen is survived by her husband Roy E Snow, brother Leon Grigg of Oklahoma City, OK, son Shawn McGuire of Va Beach, VA and daughter Kelly Wood of Austin, TX. In addition, she is survived by two step children Darylyn from McAllister, OK and Darin Snow, of Mustang, OK. Helen is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Helen was deeply adored by the Leiper's Fork community, all who knew her gained a piece of her heart and spirit. Helen will never be forgotten and is in the presence of our glorious Lord and Savior. God Bless You and Amen.
