Adela Morell Calderon passed away Friday, November 20th at 2:03 PM. She had been battling ovarian cancer since 2013.She was born in New Orleans, LA January 28, 1959. Her family moved to Puerto Rico in 1963 where she studied at Academia San Jose. After graduating she wen tto Loyola University where she obtained a degree in biology with a concentration in dental hygiene. She lived several years in California.Adelita, as she was known by friends and family, relocated to Puerto Rico in 1989 where she met her (late) husband: Dr. Emilio Rodriguez. she and “Dr. E.” lived in Michigan, Florida and finally settled in beautiful Nashville.She is remembered by all because of her love to dance, her quick sense of humor and most of all her unshakable faith in God.A devout Catholic, she served as a minister of the Eucharist at St. Edwards Catholic Church. Those lucky to have met her in the late stages of her disease were graced by her love for Jesus and the Virgin Mary.Adelita is survived by her parents: Rafael Morell and Adela Calderon; and her siblings: Rafi, Ana Maria, Patricia, Arturo and Pablo.She is now home in Heaven.
