His career included restaurant management and worked 26 years as a pharmacy technician at St. Thomas West. He loved to travel, especially to Gatlinburg and Pensacola Beach. He was very supportive of childhood cancer patients at Vanderbilt. He enjoyed gardening, decorating Christmas trees and trying to out-do his sisters in the kitchen.
Skipper endured a long struggle with his many health issues and will now be able to rest in peace.
Memorial donations are suggested to St. Thomas West Foundation, c/o "Sister Juliana Fund", 4220 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205. This fund is designated to help pay for medications for anyone with financial difficulties. Skipper supported this fund and would organize bake sales to support it.
