ANNE FAIRFIELD KITTREDGE DAUGHERTY

Anne Fairfield died February 14, 2016. She was born Anne Fairfield Kittredge
to Elinor Taylor and Walter Wilson Kittredge in Hartford, CT, on July 13, 1929. Anne
graduated from Hamden High School in Hamden, CT, and from Marietta College, OH.
She earned a Masters in Library Science from Peabody College, Nashville, TN, and a
Masters in Public Administration from The University of Tennessee. She was a
librarian with both the Tennessee library development program and with the
Nashville Public Library.
She was married to Clarence Dean Daugherty from 1950 to 1970. Surviving
are children Scott Howard Daugherty, Mark Kittredge Daugherty and Megan Deanne
Daugherty Sullivan, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anne had an unsurpassed exuberance for life, evolving as the world did
around her. Her father instilled in her pragmatism and independence; her mother
taught her to be an artist, accomplished musician and lifelong learner. Her family
and friends will miss her moxie, her clever wit and her endless quest for learning.
A memorial service for Anne will be held at Vine Street Christian Church,
4101 Harding Road, on Saturday, February 20, at 2 pm, preceded by visitation at 1
pm. Memorials may be made to the church, where Anne was a long-time member.
