Arthur Tek, born August 14, 1949, lived a full life and passed from it October 22, 2019.
Born in New York City, he lived the life of the mind, beginning at Bronx High School of Science and continuing at Tulane University (BA), Columbia University (MBA), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (MS) and MTSU (Endorsement Special Education). He lived the life of the athlete, spending hours on the basketball courts of NYC, running over one million miles, and completing 12 marathons. He lived the life of a servant, dedicated to his family and those in need, especially our city's homeless. His most noble goal was a Christian life, laboring at Lindsley Avenue Church of Christ, teaching a weekly Bible class and working tirelessly on the building's restoration.
Arthur leaves a loving legacy of family: wife of 31 years, Gina Tek and children Garrison Strickland (fiancée Christy Perez), Diana Peters (John), Katherine Tek, Kelly Tek (Long Nguyen), Mandy Floyd (Marcus) and Mary Tek Sykes (Lester). Known as Grandpart to his seven grandchildren: Madalyn, Will, MJ, Mackenzie, Isabella, Emma, and Max.
