Candler Wilson Butler III, age 80, passed away on January 25, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee, just a few blocks away from where he came into the world on June 19, 1943. Born to the late Marjorie Ross Butler and Candler Wilson Butler, Jr., he lived a life marked by an eagerness to try new things, dedication to detail, and the ability to make new friends feel like family wherever he landed.
CW, C Dub, or Trey, as affectionately known by his family, never ran out of stories to tell and unflinchingly voiced his strong opinions, but always made those around him feel special. He tinkered for years to develop his own seasoning blend which he shared freely and also made the best potato salad ever.
He leaves behind surviving sisters, Vickie Barnes Taylor (Don), of Dunedin, Florida, Sharon Anderson (Bob), of Nashville, Tennessee, his brother, Daniel Butler, of Nashville, Tennessee, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A private family interment service will be held in Florida at a later date.
