Cedric Darnell Alexander was born in Detroit, Michigan to Willie Mae Alexander on November 21, 1955, he was the youngest of two. Cedric attended Detroit Public Schools and earned his GED as he passionately called it “Good Enough Degree”.Cedric had a great passion for all sports. As a child he enjoyed playing with his neighborhood friends in a variety of sports. He was an avid golfer, cyclist and exceptional swimmer and above all, Cedric loved sharing his childhood memories.Cedric began a career with the City of Detroit at the age of 17. He worked in various city departments such as the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Department of Transportation. He held a supervisory position in security enforcement. He was a dedicated employee for over 30 years.During his employment at the Department of Transportation he met the love of his life Glynda. They were united in marriage in late May 2000. Cedric accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and attended Evangel Ministries in Detroit, Michigan. His spiritual gift was teaching young men how to live like Christ, he was a man of integrity. He was compassionate and loved everyone. His generosity and willingness to help all was uncanny.He moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 2012 where he fulfilled one of his dreams, to build a home for his lovely wife.He leaves to cherish his wife Glynda, one brother William (Carol) children Renice, Darnell, Ceddrena, LaBaron, Reneka, Karla, Paula (Gary), Pamala (Kenneth), 20 grand children, five great grand children and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
