Charles Smith, Jr.

Retired Senior Master Sergeant Charles Brown “C.B.” Smith, Jr. died May 31,2016 at the age of 86. He served in the USAF for 27 years as a flight engineer. C.B. was awarded the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism in Vietnam. He loved flying and riding his motorcycle. C.B. was preceded in death by his parents Rev. C.B. and Henrietta Smith. Survivors include daughters Charlynn Smith and Sonya Smith, and granddaughter Haley Whitlock all of Texas; sister Betty Lassing of Nashville, TN and several nieces and nephews. C.B.’s family would like to express our thanks to Brookdale Senior Living, Alive Hospice, and Alvin York VA Hospital Hospice for their excellent care. Memorials may be made to any of the above or the charity of choice. Interment will be at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery June 10 ^th at 11:00am with Rev. Will Wells officiating.
