Courtney Blooding

Courtney Lynn Blooding was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on March 4, 1980, and died at home in Murfreesboro on May 24, 2016. She is survived by her partner, Curtis Stewart, mother Karen Courtney Blooding, father Randie Blooding, step-mother Kathy Hansen, uncle and aunt Bill and Margie Courtney, cousins Michael and John Courtney, paternal grandparents Lee and Maxine Blooding, cousins Heather Clemonson, Brittany Smiley and Riley Mehegan. She is also survived by her cherished god-family and their spouses and children: Martha Jo Smith, godmother; Laurie and Steve Ziegler, Katie and Caroline; Paul and Elaine Smith and Ruth Anne, Micah and Harmony; Kristi and David Shamburger and Charles, Emma Jo, Abigale, and Wesley; and Jonathan and Anne Smith and Tennent, Millie, and Mimi.Friend, daughter, singer, producer, vibrant young woman: Courtney Blooding has left an indelible mark on our hearts and on the world. She lit up a room when she walked in and pursued every endeavor with passion and tenacity. Music has been a dominant thread running through her life, from singing in children’s choir in Murfreesboro to completing dual degrees in vocal music and recording production to working with a brilliant producer in Los Angeles and traveling around the world.Courtney’s passions embraced healthy eating and distance running, dark chocolate and a chocolate “minpin” named Mousse whose feistiness matched her own. The love of her life, Curt, centered her and drew her back home to the Nashville area to continue her pursuits in the music industry.A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 265 Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
