Diana Jeanette Rose, 72, passed away peacefully on July 24
th
at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN after a long illness. Diana was born February 25
th
, 1946 in Coldwater, MI to Murlin Dale and Helen Jane (Kirkpatrick) Bell. She spent her childhood and early adult years in Michigan, graduating from Ann Arbor High School in 1964 and attending Concordia Lutheran Junior College.Diana moved to Stonington, CT in 1970, and then to the Groton, CT neighborhoods of Tanglewood and Mumford Cove. She married Revere Rose on March 14, 1987, and they resided in Mumford Cove for more than twenty years before moving to Norwich, CT in 2008. They then moved to the Harpeth Meadows community in Nashville, TN in 2012, where they enjoyed being closer to their children and grandchildren.Diana was active in Southeastern Connecticut organizations including the Mystic Junior Women's Club, the Noank Elementary School PTO, and the Noank Baptist Church. She worked as a teacher's aide at Noank School, as a receptionist at the Mystic Marinelife Aquarium, and then as a scheduler in the Connecticut College office of Conferences and Special Events for more than 16 years.Survivors include her husband Revere; sister Marilyn Wallas of West Bloomfield, MI; two sons from a prior marriage to Roger Norris: Patrick Norris of Nashville, TN and Todd Norris of Sarasota, FL; daughter in-law Marcella Woods; and two grandchildren, three nieces, and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her older sister Judith Talmadge.A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11
th
at 11:30am at the Harkness Memorial Chapel of Connecticut College in New London, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice or the Susan G. Komen Foundation
