Donna Blade

Donna Dean Blade, age 81, passed away October 13, 2019 at the Residence at Alive Hospice.Donna was the daughter of the late George Chapman and Sabuary Alice Myers. Growing up on a cotton farm, she learned the value of hard work, caring for family and serving others. She loved basketball and enjoyed nature-filled walks. Her favorite time of year were the fall months that offered cool, crisp mornings for long walks. Those were the exact conditions of the morning she entered into eternity, the "perfect day for a long hike."Donna was a dedicated mother who sacrificed for her family and children. She was also a warrior in her 8-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.She was predeceased by her parents, five siblings, a son and her husband, and is survived by a son: Terry (Patsy) Blade; daughter: Deborah Blade; sister: Doris Durham; 5 grandchildren: Terri Jada, Terry, Jason, Trenton and Preston; and two great-grandchildren: Lily and Julie.Her family will celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM and services beginning at 11:00 AM. She will then be laid to rest beside her husband at Middle Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
