Donna Claire Savage, RN, 57, Hendersonville, died at home on November 23 following a four-year battle with ovarian cancer. A 1978 graduate of Hendersonville High school, she earned an Associates nursing degree from Belmont College and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Western Kentucky University. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and was blessed with many sisters who were a great support through her illness. She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church and worked for the Tennessee Department of Health. Preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Jim Savage, she is survived by her sister Gale (Joe) Parkes, Franklin, brothers Tim Savage, Knoxville, and Mike (Ellen) Savage, Hoover, AL. Honorary Pallbearers are Debra Maggart, Bari and Barry Brooks, Becky Green Rankin, Margo Spagnuolo Grace, Hal and Kerri Balthrop, Russ Davis, Heather Holt Pickard, David Payne. Special thanks to her caregivers Betty Carey,and Bernadine McClerkin, as well as Laura Primm, and her Department of Health co-workers. A Requiem Eucharist service is Saturday, December 2, at 11am, St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church, Father Jody Howard officiating. A reception will follow.
