“Dona” White, 63, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away February 10, 2023 at Skyline Hospital
after a long and brave battle with cancer. She was born in Nampa, Idaho to David and Eileen
(Ebbers) White on July 11, 1959. She and the growing military family moved around the country,
living in Georgia and Puerto Rico, before graduating from Chopticon High School in Maryland.
After her move to the Nashville area, Dona made many lifelong friends through the various
places she worked, including Wal-Mart and Chilton’s, and the neighbors she lived nearby.
While she enjoyed many hobbies and activities, she was always a mother at heart. She took pride
in single-handedly raising her son, always doing the best that she could. She loved being
outdoors, and walked almost everywhere she went for as long as she was able. Her hobbies
included puzzles, playing board games and cards, and collecting things that were near and dear
to her heart. She was a longtime and devoted Christian, always relying on her relationship with
her Savior, Jesus.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who left an impression on everyone. She looked
forward to visits from her grandkids and instilled in them a love for life. She had an amazing
memory and told entertaining stories, most of them true. Even in her last few days, she still
recalled stories from throughout her life.
She is survived by her devoted son, Michael, of Madison, TN; grandchildren Maycie, Makiah,
and Emma Lynn; siblings Michael, Patty, Mary, Connie, Darby, and Dorinda, as well as beloved
cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by both of her parents
and by her sister, Sharon.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held at the family home on
February 18 from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. A covered dish would be appreciated.
