Doris June Driskill, age 75, passed away on January 13, 2020 in Nashville, TN. June was born on September 22, 1944 in New Hope community, Rockwood, TN to Charles and Florence Vineyard Driskill. June graduated from Roane County High School in Kingston in 1962. Shortly after graduation, June left for Nashville to attend Helen Dye’s Beauty School and to care for her sister’s children. She worked for 45 years as a beautician in the Donelson area of Nashville.In 1969, June became a member of Donelson View Baptist Church where she was active until her death. June had a continuing card ministry and everyone looked forward to receiving cards from her. She also served as a leader in the Acteens and GAs. June was a long time member of the church kitchen committee where she was responsible for preparing Wednesday night and special occasion dinners.June was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Florence Driskill; Brothers: Richard Lee Driskill, Lewis (Bud) Driskill, Curtis W. Driskill; Sister: Wanda Sue Driskill; Niece: Janice Woody Murphy; Nephew: Richard C. Driskill.Survivors include:Brother: Claude H. (Jeepie) Driskill of Murfreesboro, TNSisters: Betty Driskill Woody of Nashville, TNNancy Driskill (Johnny) Smith of Rockwood, TNNephews: Marty Woody of Memphis, TNTerry Woody of Nashville, TNNieces: Lynne Woody (Chris) Booker of Nashville, TNSusan Driskill (Arthur) Echols of Murfreesboro, TNTracy Driskill (Bryan) Staats of Murfreesboro, TNBecky Driskill (David) Parker of Murfreesboro, TNCathy Driskill (Mark) Mebes of Walla Walla, WAShe also had many beloved grand nephews and nieces. One of the biggest joys of her life was getting all the families together for celebrations.Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Donelson View Baptist Church in Donelson, TN. A memorial service will be held at the church on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation hour from 10:00 – 11:00 before the service. June chose cremation and the interment will be at a later date in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Kingston, TN.
