Dorothy Meadows

December 23, 1939 — June 7, 2017

Dorothy ‘June' Adcock Meadows was born on December 23, 1939 to Marie Leslie Adcock and Robert Adcock. June, second born, was very close with her siblings Edward, Peggy, Ruby, Frank, and Rita. She took her role as the oldest of the four girls very seriously. On September 10, 1956, June married J L Meadows. By 1962 June was busy raising her own three boys, Marty, Jeff, and Randy and in November of 1963 June and JL moved their family to Goodlettsville. With these three boys, there was never a dull moment. June was always getting them somewhere, school, baseball, football, basketball, band, and the list goes on. She loved her boys and loved being a mom. Each of the boys graduated from Goodlettsville High School and were soon married. When the grandkids began to arrive June was delighted with her new role; however, in her words, ‘I'm not old enough to be a granny' so ‘Mama June' was born. June enjoyed her grandkids. June also enjoyed her time working in real estate. She worked and sold properties in Goodlettsville and the surrounding areas. June was a good neighbor and a good friend. June was a faithful and serving wife, and was a constant source of strength when J L became ill. Even in her own illness she thought of others and often told them to go get some rest. June loved Jesus and her family and she will be greatly missed. Dorothy June Adcock Meadows passed away, in Hendersonville, at her son's home, on June 7, 2017 at the age of 77. June was preceded in death by her husband J L; parents Marie Adcock and Robert Adcock; siblings Peggy Adcock Hunley and Frank Adcock, and her granddaughter, Deana Lynn Meadows. She is survived by her three sons, Marty (Melissa) Meadows, Jeff (Dana) Meadows and Randy Meadows, and six grandchildren, Taylor, Daniel (Rachel), Eric, Alex (Kandace), Clint, and David (Torry); and one great-grandchild Hudson Gray Meadows. Active Pallbearers: Alex Meadows, Clint Meadows, Daniel Meadows, Eric Meadows, Bruce Clements and David Kendall Honorary Pallbearers: David Meadows, Frank McDaniel, and Nephews
