Frederick (Fred) Thomas Fratar, of Franklin, TN, formally from NY, affectionately known as “Pepaw”, passed away at his home on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2020 after battling lung disease as a result of being a 9/11 responder at Ground Zero. Fred served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army from 1973 -1977. Fred was the proud father of two sons, Bryan and Gregg Fratar. In 1998, Fred met the love of his life, Kathleen, on a plane. When they married he inherited two bonus children, Jeremy and Cindi. Fred was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his son Gregg Fratar, and his parents Mary Jean Small and Thomas Fratar. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Sauseda, son Bryan (Jennifer) Fratar and three grandsons whom he adored (Zane, Finley, and Logan) as well as his “bonus” children Cindi (Brad) Furlough and their three children (Nicholas ((Fred’s “buddy”)), Ayla, Trevor), and Jeremy (Rita) Sauseda with their children (Layton, Lillie). He also leaves three lifelong friends, Chuck Park, NY, Jerry (Bud) Long, FL, and Fred Coleman, TX.A Memorial Mass will be held
on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
