Esther Macintyre

Esther Louise MacIntyre, age 84 of Hermitage, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN, after an extended illness.Born in rural Mexico, MO, she was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Myrtle Livesay. She is survived by her children, Steve MacIntyre, Brian MacIntyre, Alan (Dawn) MacIntyre, and Beth MacIntyre. Also, siblings Ida Jean (Richard) Wheelan of Paris, MO, Jim (Jane) Livesay of Hermitage, TN, Doris Davis of Franklin, TN, and Carol Ridiner of Hermitage, TN, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Esther was retired from Opryland USA after 20 years where, as an accomplished seamstress, she made many of the costumes for the musical shows performed at the park. Following her retirement, she used her sewing skills at David’s Bridal, made costumes for the Rockettes and was available to many country music stars at the CMA Awards shows held in Nashville for last minute alterations prior to their performances on stage. Also, she was contracted by many country music stars residing in the Nashville area to make their suits and dresses for performances.Esther was a member of the Tulip Grove Baptist Church, 563 Shutes Lane, Old Hickory, TN,where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 23 at 7 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to either The Gideons International or Alive Hospice Nashville, TN.
