Gail Pollock

January 22, 1939 — November 18, 2015

Abagail A. (Gail) Pollock, 76, of Nashville, died Wednesday, November 18, following a 2-year battle with cancer. She was born in Atlanta, GA, then moved to Nashville at age 10. She worked in the music industry starting in 1974, and she is best known for her close association with Scotty Moore and her long friendships with the Nashville ‘A Team’ session players. She is survived by three children: Stacye Stone of New Orleans, Margi Lane and Wayne Pollock (Carolyne), both of Nashville. She has a brother, Paul K. Adams (Nancy) of Alpharetta, GA, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous friends and acquaintances. She was respected and loved by musicians and producers, not only in Nashville, but around the world, particularly by the ones lucky enough to have experienced her “Southern Mother” cooking for countless recording sessions, jam sessions, or any other reason just to have friends get together. She was not only the consummate hostess for all gatherings, she was also a masterful storyteller. Those abilities, combined with her vast knowledge of music industry happenings, meant there was never a dull moment when you were at one of Gail’s gatherings! She will be sorely missed, but she lives on in the hearts of many. There will be a ‘Celebration of Gail’ party after the new year, date and details to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Nashville Humane Association, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
