Gary Johns

September 16, 1946 — June 19, 2020

Gary Leland Johns Sr., 73 passed away June 19, 2020 after a long battle with kidney disease. He was born in Nashville, Tn and lived most of his life in New Johnsonville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father Emil (Johnny) Newton Johns and his mother Eleanor (Lady) Montgomery Johns Smith. Gary was survived by his three children, two daughters, Melissa Johns Miller and husband Jerry of Murfreesboro, TN, Marla Johns Martin and husband Greg of Mt. Juliet, TN, and son Gary Lance Johns of Waverly, TN; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He graduated from Waverly Central High School in 1965. He was an electrician from 1965 until he retired in 2003. He was a proud member of Local IBEW 429. A private graveside service will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
