George Herrmann

George H. Herrmann, age 85, of Murfreesboro, TN. passed away February 21,2016 at Vanderbilt Cardiology Unit in Nashville. TN. Mr. Herrmann was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eugenia Herrmann, wife Lillian Brunkhardt of and daughter Helen, all of Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his wife, Novie Estes Herrmann of Murfreesboro, TN. and son George Joseph Herrmann of Manchester, CT.
George was honorably discharged in 1953, after serving with the United States Marine Corp as a radio telegraph operator. He went on to work with Western Union for the next 32 years, in telegraph communications, where he retired.
George was a very witty and loving person. He never met a stranger. If you talked with him, you had better be an avid sports fan. The Kentucky Derby and the Titans were at the top of his list. He sat up all through the Super Bowl and was cheering with the rest of us.
Mr. Herrmann was raised of the Catholic faith. He will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Murfreesboro, TN at a later date.
