Glenda Scott

July 10, 1932 — June 18, 2018

Glenda Mae Russell Scott, age 85, went to her heavenly Princess Palace on the 18th of June 2018 at 6:40 am. She was surrounded by love and died peacefully in her sleep at home, exactly as she wanted. While the medical team lists chronic bleeding of the gastrointestinal system as the cause of death, those who knew her best are certain that the real cause was from an overly large and well-used heart. Glenda "Grammy" Scott had eight children and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She considered everyone a friend and knew no strangers. Each and every person was welcomed with a hug and a lemon drop. She chose to live in love and kindness daily sharing the light of her Lord by example. As a child, her father lovingly referred to her as "Bugs," and she proudly boasted being the one to propose to her husband in 1948. Their love song was "I'll Hold You In My Heart" by Eddy Arnold, which was playing as she bade farewell to her earthly body and received her halo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edwin Leroy Scott, three of their children: Eddie, Lonnie & Bev and one grandchild, Amanda. Her heavenly reunion also includes three siblings, both parents, and many other beloved family and friends. An incredible number of the Scott & Russell families remain on earth to remember and celebrate her beautiful soul. Those closest to her heart include her brother, Willie, her son, Ken, daughters Susanna, Beth, and Ren&egrave. Three precious grandchildren were at her side during her last years: Rachel Michelle, Kaiden Alexander, and Alissa Danielle. A celebration of life service will be held in her home on Saturday, 30 June 2018 at 2 pm. Friends and family welcome to share memories, moments, tears and laughter. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alive Hospice Nashville are requested. The team at Alive Hospice were champions of Grammy in life and in her passing. https://www.alivehospice.org/support-us/donate-now/make-a-donation
