Halle Claire Buttriss

Halle Claire Buttriss, 23, after a lifetime living with muscular dystrophy, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2023 in her Nashville, TN home, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her parents, Christina and Benjamin Buttriss, and her younger brother, Bryan, as well as many other extended family.

Halle was born on January 10, 2001 in Nashville, TN. Despite her condition, she never met a stranger, and her smile could light up a room. She was “famous” around Nashville, particularly the Green Hills area, where she frequently could be seen in her purple wheelchair, dressed in bright colors and sparkle. Most recently, Halle had connections at YoungLife Capernaum, St. Augustine’s Chapel, and Hillsboro High School, where she graduated in 2019. She had a love for sequins, rhinestones, rainbows, and Godspell.

The Buttriss family would like to thank Vanderbilt and Alive Hospice for their special care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Halle’s name may be sent to Nashville YoungLife Capernaum, Alive Hospice, Muscular Dystrophy Association, or St. Augustine’s Chapel.

On Sunday July 21, 2024, a visitation at 1 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM, will be held at St. Augustine’s A-Frame Chapel, 2308 Vanderbilt Place #D, Nashville, TN 37212. Paid parking is available at Kensington Garage, next to Memorial Gymnasium. Casual attire.
