Mr. Irl Everett Hampleman, age 72 of LaVergne, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.A native of St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Hallie Everett and Esther Elizabeth Fleming Hampleman, and served his country in the United States Navy. He was a meat cutter by profession for over 50 years, and retired from Kroger with 37 years of service to that company. He loved sports, especially the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Hampleman was also a member of the Unity Free Will Baptist Church, where he enjoyed volunteering in the Food Ministry.He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Donna Hampleman (Tim) Barkley of IN; sons: Jeffrey Blum of LaVergne and Todd Blum of Jacksonville, NC; siblings: Judy Bishop of IL, Kay (Larry) Greer of TN, Margie (Dick) Miller of IN, Jerry Hutchcraft of IL and George Hampleman of IL; 7 grandchildren: Alex and Ryan Barkley, Dustin, Bryce, Tyler, Victoria and Hayden Blum; and 2 great-grandchildren: Jude Owen Barkley and Beckam Leo Barkley.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Wanda Jean Hampleman in August of this year; and three siblings: Kenny Hampleman, Carl Hampleman and Betty Jean Hampleman.His family will gather with friends for visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, December 4 at the Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 1901 Florence Rd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 5 at 10:00 AM at the church.
