Jack (Jacky) Morris Wright joined his Savior on June 14, 2019, surrounded by all that he loved most – friends, family, laughter, lively conversation, and prayer.
Born in Gallatin, TN, on July 18, 1936, to Tillie and Jack Wright, he barreled through life endearing himself to untold thousands with his humor, antics, and counsel. A proud former Marine, he spent his days tending to those who needed him, and for more than 20 years he was most likely found at Jacky and Billy’s BBQ Junction, a local favorite. His generosity was legendary, his shenanigans even more so. Fifty years ago he was given a second chance at life, and he promised God he would spend the rest of his days helping others who needed him most. And he did. He was a hero and champion for lost causes.
Jacky was preceded in death by his parents, his best friend and brother Billy, and his sisters Bobbye Jean McCullough and Peggy Sullivan. He is survived by his beloved angel Donna Timmons, nieces and nephews, his boys David, Craig (Kim), and Scott O’Neil, his chosen grandchildren, Caroline, Kate, and Colin O’Neil, and endlessly grateful and loving friends. The world will never know another like him.
