James Edward Salvato, Sr.The man. The myth. The legend. Men wanted to be him and women wanted to be with him. Jimmy loved Southern sweet tea, hunting, fishing, collecting coins, bird watching, Little Debbie Cakes, Married with Children reruns, The Price Is Right, spending time with his friends and family, beautiful women, Reeses Cups, his mothers homemade lasagna, Sonic milkshakes and Vodka. Not necessarily in that order.James Edward Salvato Sr passed away on 10/27/16 after he fell out of a tree trying to save a kitten, or maybe not but we all know how he loved to tell stories. He was always fun to be around, told random jokes, and had a great sense of humor. His genuine love for people and his desire to make others feel valued will forever remain in our hearts.He was preceded in death by his parents John and Verna Salvato; Brother, Robert Salvato. Survived by his three children. Jason McDaris of KCK, Vanessa Salvato-McKeown (Adam) of Smyrna, TN and James Salvato Jr (Caroline) of Columbus, OH; his 9 grandchildren Axel, Donovan (Audrey), Brittani, Jacob, Kira, Kamren, Saverio and Theo. 2 great grandchildren Kayleen and Addyson; Siblings: Jack Salvato (Becky) of Columbus, OH, Frank Salvato (Susan) of Huntingtown, MD, Richard Salvato of KCK and Rita Meserko (Michael) of Overland Park, KS. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as many dear friends.The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to Community Servants for your housing ministry and outreach programs.
