Jean Carroll Russell, age 91 of Hendersonville, passed away in the evening hours of October 12, 2021 at her residence.
Mrs. Russell was a native of Sandersville, GA and daughter of the late Mack Bryant and Janet Sessions Carroll.
She earned a degree in Home Economics from the Georgia State Women’s College. She became an expert on the details of the President and his wife, Rachel, and educated countless students and visitors over the years.
In her time away from work, she was a mother and grandmother who adored her family. In addition to her family, she enjoyed relaxing and spending time in her garden as long as her health allowed.
Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Eugene A. Russell; and a brother: Sonny Carroll.
She is survived by 5 children: Rev. David Bryant Russell, Cynthia Russell, Janet Elizabeth King, Mark Christopher Russell and Steven Eric Russell; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her family will celebrate her life with a visitation on Saturday, October 23 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, at the Hermitage United Methodist Church. A memorial will follow, officiated by the Rev. Dr. David B. Russell.
