Jimmy Hart quietly departed this life on Oct 21, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends.Jimmy Ike Hart was born Dec 10, 1963 in Reed City, Michigan to the late Ike Hart and the late Sarah Frances (Collier) Hart. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, spiritual brother, and friend.He originally met his wife at nine years old while visiting his grandmother in Baldwin, Michigan. At 19 they met again as math and English tutors at Grand Valley State and became best friends. Together, in 1986, they moved to Nashville, TN to attend Fisk University. They married June 6, 1989.Jimmy received his Bachelor of Art Degree in English Literature with a teaching certification in secondary education in May 1991. Most importantly, he became a disciple of Jesus Christ in July the same year after being reached out to by Clayton Parham.Jimmy was diagnosed with stage four cancer November 2015 and given two month to live. He published his first book of Christian poetry "Hors D' oeuvres of Heaven" December 2016. He was in the midst of writing his second book before God called him home.He is and will always be missed. He is survived by his wife Melinda (Timberlake) Hart, his four daughters: Fukayna Hart, Nailah Hart, Aziza Hart and Zakia Hart, granddaughter JaZelle Hart-Wright, five sisters: JoAnn King, Mary (Carlton) Webb, Christine (Kristina Boereer) King, Frances (Michael) White, and Romella Hart, three brothers: Jerry (Emily) King, Johnnie (Kim) King, Harold King, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
