On October 20th 2024, Jimmy Douglas “JJ” Joyner, loving father and devoted Christian, passed away at age 56 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
JJ was born on August 11, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Lawrence County, Tennessee. JJ was a faithful member of Oak Hill Church in Leoma, Tennessee where you could find him almost any time the doors were open. He was the most devoted father, with his son being his proudest accomplishment in life. JJ was a hardworking man and spent his career as an electrician. JJ loved fishing, hunting and anything to do with Tennessee Vols Football!
JJ was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Joyner Wallace and maternal grandmother, Reva Fincher Baldwin. He is survived by his son Brice Joyner of Hartselle, Alabama. Three brothers; Eddie (Darlene) Joyner of Shelbyville, Tennessee; Chris Joyner of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Richard (Sherry) Joyner of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee along with several nieces and nephews & many close cousins and friends.
A celebration of life for Jimmy Douglas “JJ” Joyner will be held on Saturday, October 26th at Oak Hill Church (510 Old Florence Pulaski Rd) in Leoma, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm, Services at 2:00pm, we will then meet at Cross Roads Cemetery in Leoma, Tennessee to honor JJ’s request to be laid to rest beside his mother.
