Jo Ann Wetherbee Bruce, of Nashville, TN, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Pepper Bruce III, and is survived by son, William Pepper Bruce, IV (Lani), daughter, Gretchen Bruce Long (Mark), eight grandchildren and ten great grand-children, 1 great-great grandchild, and friends who loved her dearly.
Jo Ann was born on April 18, 1928, in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Benson High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
She met Pepper in Grand Lake, Colorado, and they married in 1949.
Pepper and Jo made their home in Franklin (Fernvale), TN. Jo was a wonderful loving wife and mother and a dedicated homemaker. They enjoyed over 60 years in Fernvale, building lifelong friendships in their community. Their family were active members of Bellevue United Methodist Church.
Jo was a long-time member of the Charlotte-Pearl Tennis group and won several tournaments including one at the Governor’s mansion. She loved teaching tennis to the children at Whippoorwill Day Camp in Fernvale.
Jo also loved her many years in the philanthropic group called P.E.O.

Memorial service will begin at 11:00 am.
