John Robert Evans the third passed peacefully on May 9th 2013 to be with his beloved grandmother Deena. He was preceded in his death by his grandparents Bruce and Enid (deena) Hart and his parents John heart and Lois Hart Evans and his son Michael Scott Evans. He leaves behind for the celebration of his life his wife partner and caretaker Mary Kay Songer. His children Ray (Lori) Evans, Kimberly K Jett, Brian Kemmey and Molly Snyder. His brothers Bruce Evans (Sherry), David Evans (Madonna) and Sister Martha Crist. Also 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren whom he loved tremendously.
John was proud of his Masters degree in vocational education. His teaching time in Clermont Ohio, Northern KY and the inner city of Cincinnati with Maizelle Robertson, I’m sure that many students there will never forget the innovative sometimes unorthodox approach Maizelle n John took towards alternative students. John was proud of his college students at Northwood institute and helping soldiers at Ft. Campbell get their associates degrees, and the many food competitions they won first prize in numerous food shows n culinary arts competitions. He started out as a music major and used those skills in ministry singing and playing guitar in various churches. He was also gifted with photography.
His last years of life he believed in miracles and at times was a testament to their ever willing to admit mistakes n take them to the cross as taught in early life by Deena.
We wish to thank the staff at Baptist 5 Kidd and CCU and pastoral staff Father Francsis & Father Joe Pat Breene and Father Jerry Strange for their support over the years.
John was a master of disguise over the later years with dementia and their are plenty of special stories to share of both John and our special needs son Michael S Evans. He was always willing to participate, learn and listen with family and loved ones. To his peers from Boardman Ohio where he celebrated his 50th high school reunion as Jack the football player. To his CB friends the grey ghost and to several medical staff the energizer bunny whose batteries finally failed. He will be missed remembered with a celebration of life at St. Edwards church @ 1pm Saturday may 11th with reception following in St. Edwards hall. His ashes will go to Hawaii with his daughter Kimberly at a later date to celebrate happier times.
