John Hicks

Known as “Cotton” to his colleagues and Kevin to his friends and family, John Hicks was born and raised in Nashville. A man of character, he’d be the first to help with a project, move, ride, or especially a repair, as he could fix anything. A full-hearted soul from his earliest days, he protected his classmates, loved his two dogs and was always saving stray cats. Kevin loved his five grandchildren, his nieces, great niece and nephew and his son to whom he’d taught the HVAC trade. He loved playing cards, a family tradition in which he regularly won the hand at gin rummy or poker. Kevin's sweet smile, warmth and kindness and his constancy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn Tumey, his son Robert Hicks and extended family. There will be a celebration of his life in the spring of 2022.
