Judith Lea Swann

September 28, 1940 — March 14, 2025

Nolensville, TN

Judith Swann, 84, passed away on March 14, 2025, at her home in Nolensville, Tennessee. Born on September 28, 1940, in Shelbyville, Kentucky, Judith lived a life marked by grace, independence, and a deep love for her family and music.

Judith was known for her sweet and loving nature. She carried herself with quiet strength and a sense of dignity that touched everyone who knew her. Fiercely independent and occasionally stubborn, she preferred to handle things on her own rather than burden others. Her meticulous nature was evident in every aspect of her life—her home was always immaculate and welcoming, often described as looking like a model home.

A gifted pianist, Judith found great joy in music. Her baby grand piano held a special place in her heart and stood as a symbol of her passion and pride. Whether playing for family or simply enjoying the melodies herself, music was a constant source of comfort and expression throughout her life.

Judith’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her sons, Gordon Axt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Stephen Axt of Wilmington, Delaware; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Colmore of Columbia, Tennessee. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cherished the time they spent with her. Judith had an infectious spirit—she was fun to be around and always took genuine interest in the lives of those she loved.

She was predeceased by her husband Ashley Swann.

Judith will be deeply missed by all who knew her—her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends whose lives were brightened by her presence.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held for her at 11:00 am April 26th, 2025, at Grace Episcopal Church, 5291 Main St, Spring Hill, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her name to woundedwarriorproject.org. This was an organization very dear to Judith's heart.
