Julie Wallace

Mrs. Julie Campbell Wallace, age 49, died Thursday evening, November 12, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.A native of Henderson, KY, Julie was the daughter of the late Kenneth Ray Campbell and Wanda Webster of Lewisburg.In addition to her mother, Julie is survived by her husband of 27 years: Paul Wallace; two sons: Will and Andy Wallace; brother: Kenny (Michelle) Campbell; and aunt: Maggie Campbell Cobb, all of Lewisburg.Julie made a life of service to others through her career and free-time activities. By profession she was a registered nurse. She received her nursing degree in 1992 and spent three years at Maury Regional Hospital, initially in the surgery unit, then in the emergency department. She found that her true love was in home health and hospice care. Julie began working for NHC-Homecare in Lewisburg, and at the time of her diagnosis, was affiliated with SunCrest Home Health Care.Beyond nursing, Julie continued her life of service through the Boy Scouts of America. In the Duck River District she served as Day Camp Director for five years, Cubmaster of Lewisburg Pack 173, and finally as a den leader in the Pack. Of her original cubscouts, several have, or will, become Eagle Scouts.Julie mentored scouts of all ages. She encouraged the boys who assisted at day camp to continue to mentor younger scouts, and become leaders in their troops. Many scouts today had their first opportunities of service to younger scouts while working with Julie. For her service to the local packs and district scouting, Julie was honored as a 2006 Long Rifle Recipient at the Annual District Leadership Banquet.In addition to scouting, Julie served her community as a part of the Order of the Eastern Star. She started in 1997, and over the years served three terms as Worthy Matron. She was also active in the Lewisburg First Methodist Church.Throughout her illness, Julie kept a positive attitude and committed her time to her husband and boys. She remained as active as she could supporting and encouraging them. She urged them to continue working hard and was proud of their successes.Julie's desired nothing more than helping develop strong leaders in her scouts. She mentored and supported the adult leaders with whom she worked and was a faithful friend to many.Her family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 15 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the McKnight Building of First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 16 at 1:00 PM in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, officiated by Christopher Taylor and Pastor Mark Irvin.
