Katherine Mayer

Katherine Jane Mayer, age 79 of Taylor, PA, departed this life on March 27th, 2022. Born to Adolph Mayer and Winifred Miller, Katherine entered this life on August 22nd, 1942 in New York. Her life's ambition was to become a teacher and she realized that dream as a Special education teacher in Texas.  It was an achievement she was very proud of and she used her skills to help many students rise above learning issues.  She was very passionate about helping others. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was cherished among her sewing circle and Red Hat friends and community.

She was preceded in death by a younger sister, Johanna "Chris" Mayer and brother, Phillip Mayer.

She is survived by her daughter, Josi Lauver; two grandchildren, Collin and Rachel Lauver; and sister, Winnie Ware. She will be missed by many nephews and nieces, as well.  It meant a lot to her to have reconnected with family over the years and she loved spending time and talking with so many of them, whether near or far.
