Kimberly Demonbreun

March 2, 1970 — November 7, 2019

It is in the sadness of this earth and the joyous song of heaven that we announce the passing of Kimberly Christine Demonbreun. James and Sherrill Fletcher Bates welcomed their baby girl into the world on the second day of March 1970 in Hickman County, Tennessee. Christie was preceded in death by her father James Bates, grandparents Glenn Gregory, Christine Fletcher Gregory and R H Fletcher. Christie is survived by her husband Brad, her son Ethan and her mother Sherry Bates. Her uncle Bob Fletcher and his wife Gaila. Their two children Kyle and Whitney. Friday afternoon, on the 8th of November at 3:45, she saw the face of God. She was surrounded by family and friends. Christie has faced lots of medical issues her entire life but has always found a way to prevail. When faced with some end of life decisions eight years ago, she chose the path of transplant. And after many months of procedures, she returned to us in a way that was remarkable. She was able to see Ethan graduate, witness Clara joining the family, and watch two of her favorite girls in the world get married. She was a God Girl with a little swagger. She was a constant fighter for her faith and her family – to which you didn't mess with either. The end of her life came very quickly for everyone, especially her family. We are going to miss her here every day of our lives. Visitation with the family will take place at La Vergne First UMC on Tuesday, November 12th from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Christie may be sent to La Vergne Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 163, La Vergne, TN 37086 or to LFUMC, 248 Old Waldron Rd, La Vergne, TN 37086.
