Kurt Nevin Judeich, age 66, passed peacefully into eternity on October 14, 2018 with his wife Linda at his side. They had made their home in Nashville, TN.Kurt was born in Alexandria, VA on October 25, 1951 to the late Fred (Fritz) and Doris Judeich. While he was a boy, he and his family moved to Indiana County, PA where he would graduate from Homer Center High school in 1969. Shortly thereafter he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and his service sent him to theatres of war in Vietnam and Thailand and then safely home. He served at Peterson Air Force Base as a graduate counselor to cadets from the U.S. Air Force Academy, and later would serve at NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex. On May 20, 1973 he married Barbara Empfield in Colorado Springs, CO. Together they would have four children; Jennifer, Kevin, Rebecca, and Jonathan. The family relocated in 1978 to PA following Kurt's Honorable Discharge from the Air Force.Kurt was a long-time advocate for Veterans and their benefits. In PA, he was an active member of the American Legion Post 141, VFW Post 1989, and a remote member of Vietnam Veterans of America and Disabled Veterans of America. He would also be involved in the Governor’s Veterans Outreach & Assistance Centers in several counties of western PA where he helped veterans to get help reacclimating in society and coping with mental health issues. He also attended Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA studying Journalism and used his skills as a part-time writer for the Greensburg Tribune Review (PA).In the mid-1990s, Kurt's family life changed dramatically; it was then that he moved to Nashville, TN and there that he would marry Linda (Bishop) on April 18, 1999. Together they shared a love for their cats, trivia, witty humor, as well as online philosophic/political group forums. He loved to read and to spend time in nature. When his health become too poor to travel, he reveled in his backyard garden scape. He liked to tinker in his workshop and was always looking at things for how they might "fit" one of his projects. His mind was always working on something.Kurt was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Fred Judeich of Homer City, PA. He is survived by his wife Linda Judeich, his two sisters Margot (Judeich) Complesi of Newbern, TN and Edith (Judeich) Floyd Hoover of Portage, PA, his four children Jennifer (Judeich) Malloy of Pleasant Gap PA, Rebecca (Judeich) Dajani of Bellefonte PA, Kevin Judeich of Nashville TN, and Jonathan of Treasure Lake PA and 7 grandchildren.Services will be held on Thursday October 25, 2018 at Nashville National Cemetery at 11 am.In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to these organizations that were dear to Kurt; Nashville Rescue Mission (
