Lajeana Beth Durham, born on April 11, 1967, in Illinois, left us too soon on February 18, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. A cherished daughter, beloved mother, devoted friend, and a remarkable registered nurse, Lajeana's impact on those who knew her was profound and everlasting.

Graduating with a degree in nursing from Illinois Eastern University, Lajeana dedicated her entire career to the healthcare profession, where she exemplified kindness, intelligence, and a caring spirit. Colleagues and patients admired her for her unwavering compassion and exceptional care, traits that defined her life both personally and professionally.

Lajeana's vibrant spirit was matched by her love for life's simple pleasures and her family. She created countless cherished memories with her daughter, Johnna, with whom she shared a bond that was truly special. Together, they attended music festivals in New Orleans, savoring the rhythm of life before COVID changed the world. Each year, they delighted in celebrating Lajeana's birthday at the House of Cards, creating a tradition rich with laughter and joy. Their relationship was a partnership—always “her and Johnna against the world”—filled with humor and mutual support.

Beyond her role as a mother, Lajeana embraced many hobbies and interests that brought her happiness. She was an avid shopper, a talented decorator, and found peace and joy in spending time outdoors, tending to her yard and garden. She loved being on the water at the lake. A voracious reader, Lajeana sought adventure and knowledge within the pages of countless books, always hungry for stories that broadened her understanding of the world.

Lajeana is survived by her beloved daughter, Johnna Durham, and her loyal companions, Zeus the dog and Cleopatra the grand-dog, who provided unconditional love and companionship. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie B. Durham and Shirley Durham, who undoubtedly shaped the incredible person Lajeana became.
