Larry Travis Proctor of Spring Hill passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Monday, August 9, 2021, at the age of 64 years.
Larry is survived, and will be dearly missed, by his loving wife: Cindy (nee Reid) Proctor; his children & stepchildren: Larry Travis Proctor, Jr., Megan Proctor, Evan Proctor, Cristen Gomez, Nikki Gomez, Tommy Gomez and Joey Gomez; step-grandchildren: Brayden, Ryder & Gabby; siblings: Robert Proctor (Mary), Karen Grant, Linda Mathis (Walter “Buddy”), Martha Dungy, Judy Martin (Dee), Jackie Heenan (Jim) & Doug Proctor (Licyl); In-laws: Len & Joyce Reid; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother & stepfather: Esther (McCoy) & Luis Prieto; his father: Daniel Proctor; his sister, Lucinda Sheppard and his brother-in-law, Wes Reid.
Larry attended East High School in Memphis, TN. He continued his education at Memphis State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. Larry loved coaching youth football and did so for many years in the Franklin Cowboys organization. He was a long-time member of the Nashville-Franklin Elk Lodge #72 and regularly attended The Church at Station Hill in Spring Hill.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at The Church at Station Hill on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour.
Cindy wishes to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Willowbrook Hospice who cared for Larry so well and who walked beside her on this journey. Your kindness, compassion, milkshake deliveries and willingness to listen to Larry’s corny jokes will never be forgotten.
