Lisa Williams

Lisa Ann Williams, age 46 of Nashville, died January 23, 2015 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. A native of New Britain, CT, Lisa as the daughter of John Joseph Mancarella and Gail Mary Marenzana Mancarella.Lisa was a trauma survivor. Her experiences influenced everything about her life on a daily basis, and it was the key to understanding her as a person. With a 157 IQ, she was a bright as she was troubled. This didn't always serve her well as more than a few mental health professionals took offense to her demanding and interrogative style! Through it all, she made friends easily. Unfortunately, her past could as easily interfere with her friendships and cause them to be lost.Lisa loved music and had a beautiful voice. Upon her arrival in Nashville she quickly connected with the songwriter community and began writing and performing her own songs, while singing for others, at writers nights and on song demos. These times became the happiest moments of her life.She will be remembered for her quick wit and sarcastic tendencies. While she had a soft spot for the nostalgia of 80's movies, "The Princess Bride" was her favorite. She loved to laugh and often collapse on the floor from exhaustion from laughing so hard.Though her politics were liberal she was never a blind follower. Her beliefs kept her at odds on many issues with both dominant parties. As an advocate for mental health issues, Lisa was especially passionate about helping trauma survivors. She felt that working with patients who need more care and a gentler, more understanding, demeanor was a good fit for her.She loved designer purses, especially Louis Vuitton. One of her favorite activities was to search thrift shops for discarded designer bags. The pastime was in the process of becoming an actual business just prior to her passing.Never one to be limited by convention, Lisa loved to set out with no plans and simply follow an idea. This allowed her the joy of the experience and seeing where her dreams would carry her. She booked her first trip to Hawaii just 18 hours before boarding the plane.Her favorite destinations include Colorado, Wilmington, NC, Longboat Key, FL and the always beautiful Hawaii. Must like her movies, she had a special place to visit - Kualoa Park on Oahu. She discovered this while simply "driving around the island" on a visit. She frequently stated that she could just "stay and watch the sea and mountains forever."With her passing, Lisa now occupies the perfect spot to view the beauty of nature and creation. Her friends and family will gather on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Hodge House at Percy Warner Park to celebrate her life, her talents, her experiences and her passions.
