Lois Adele Hudson was born on March 10, 1928, the second child of Erle T. and Mary White Hudson. Lois attended Isaac Litton High School where she caught the eye of James Franklin ‘Frank’ McDaniel. They ran away to marry soon after high school. After marrying, they lived in North Carolina where Frank proudly served as a Marine. After returning home to Nashville, they welcomed Melissa Lynn to their family, a long-awaited occasion. Lois was a homemaker; she worked to create a happy home life and create memories that would last a lifetime. She continued her favorite hobbies of antique collecting, gardening, crafting, and talking on the phone. Life seemed to always be busy for the family of three with church, school, and ballpark activities.
Lois graduated to a full-time ‘Losey’ with the arrival of her grandchildren, Taylor, Daniel, and Eric, and stayed busy with her additional role. Later in life Lois and Frank shared a two-family home with Melissa and Marty and the grandkids. She continued to be active with Frank by attending church at Faith Baptist Church and on her own with her “secret” shopping trips and Friday hair appointments. Life became fuller with the addition of their great-grandboys Hudson Gray and Porter James. Lois supported and cared for Frank during their seventy-five years of marriage which they celebrated on July 17, 2023. All that knew Lois knew she couldn’t stay inactive for long and though she could not attend church in person she continued her daily relationship with Jesus being a prayer warrior. Every day she was her spunky self and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin ‘Frank’ McDaniel, parents Erle T. and Mary White Hudson, brother Erle White Hudson, nephew Erle Hudson, Jr. ‘Hap’, granddaughter, Deana Lynn Meadows, and many dear friends. She is survived by daughter Melissa (Marty) Meadows, three grandchildren, Taylor, Daniel (Rachel), and Eric, two great-grandchildren, Hudson Gray and Porter James Meadows, a host of nephews and nieces from the Hudson and McDaniel families, and many dear friends.
