Maria Lumena Debraganca passed away at St Thomas Hospital at 2:14 AM on October 13, 2019 at the age of 73. Lumena was born on November 23, 1945, in Margao, Goa, India. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Metro Water Services in Nashville, Tennessee. Lumena also worked as a teacher in Margao, Goa, India in her earlier years. She loved to read, adored her grandchildren and had an addiction for chocolate and politics. Lumena is survived by her loving husband, Ivan Debraganca of 18 years. Lumena is lovingly remembered by her son Michael Carvalho, step son and wife Ryan and Leanne Debraganca and step son Tobias Debraganca: grandchildren Alanna Carvalho, Nickolas Carvalho and Riley Debraganca: brother and sister-in law Sergio and Fatimi Carvalho, brother and sister-in-law Emanuel and Alba Carvalho, sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Francis Braganca and Brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Lolita Carvalho: one niece, Karla Carvalho and seven nephews Ryan, Ralph and Carlton Carvalho and Joshua, Mark, Nathan and Zachary Braganca. Lumena is predeceased by mother Cristina Carvalho, Father Diogo Carvalho and brother Erasmus Carvalho. A small family gathering was held at Nashville Funeral and Cremation on October 16, 2019. Lumena's ashes will be blessed and placed to rest at her family burial ground in Margao, Goa, India. The family would like to truly thank all friends and relatives for reaching out and expressing their heartfelt condolences. In lieu of flowers, you may contribute to Lumena's charities she supported and admired, St. Jude Hospital and Wounded Warriors.
