Marie Ella Walker Caraway, 94 passed away September 16, 2015 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde H. Caraway (2014). They shared 73 l/2 years of marriage and are now together again. Marie was born in Clinton, Mississippi, May 7, 1921 to her parents Rev. and Mrs. R. R. Walker. Also preceding Marie in death were her brothers, Rufus Leslie Walker(age 1 l/2), William Ralph Walker and his wife Bertha, and Kenneth Royd Walker. She is survived by daughters, Judy Jackson and Linda Binkley, (Stephen), three grandchildren, Jeffrey Jackson (Ellen) Kathryn Lawton (Brad) Jessica Smith (Derek), seven great grandchildren Beatrix and Patrick Jackson, Ella Lawton (her name sake) Megan and Aaron Lawton, Sadie and Lucy Smith, Sister, Evelyn Holcombe, Largo, Florida, sister- in- law, Wanda Walker, South Haven, Mississippi, brother and sister- in- law JR and Libby Caraway, Vinita, Oklahoma, many loved nieces and nephews. Marie was a faithful companion. She and her husband worked their entire life helping others find Jesus Christ as their Savior. They pastored Churches in Tennessee and in later years took the message of Jesus in their travels to many countries. Marie was a homemaker who loved her family dearly and especially her grandchildren who were the apple of her eyes. Then her great grandchildren were added blessings. She loved home, loved to sew, making many quilts for family, and love to talk to anyone she met. Eventually the conversation would get around to her love of the Lord and His blessings to her and her family. Lately, she would ask the question “Are you ready to meet Jesus – you know He’s coming again soon." She will be greatly missed by each family member but she has left a heritage that will always remain in our hearts. In the ER, her son-in-law, Steve, said to her “Marie, just think about Jesus.” She answered “He’s the only one we can depend on.” Those were her last words. Services will be Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. The service will be conducted by Stephen Binkley, a dear and loved son- in- law who has been a great blessing to this family.
