Mary Catherine Crotts-Mitchell

Mary Catherine Crotts-Mitchell, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on July 15, 2024 at the age of 62 in Nashville, TN. Born on September 11, 1961, she was a cherished soul known for her kind heart and loving nature.

Mary's granddaughter Maddie Mae fondly remembers their moments together playing dolls and enjoying the outdoors, where she made a "seashell garden" for her grandmother. Mary's love for "girl's night", nail polish, and dresses illuminated her playful spirit and brought joy to her grandchildren and those around her. She was an avid gardener with a remarkable green thumb that could make any plant flourish. Her passion for animals, especially cats, added warmth to her home. She loved to play "school" and dress-up with her granddaughters.

Throughout her life, Mary touched the hearts of many as the best grandmother one could ask for. She deeply cherished spending time with her grandchildren daily and embraced the role of a devoted mother. One of her proudest accomplishments was sharing music with her sister Cindy by playing guitar and singing harmoniously in their church choir. She loved country music and would sing it to her grandchildren as they played.

Mary is survived by daughter Tonya Mitchell; son Jeremy Mitchell Sr.; grandson Jeremy Mitchell Jr.; grandchildren Kailee Springer, Alex Garton, Nathan Garton, Landon Garton, Maddie Johnson, and Amiya Turcotte; soon-to-be great-grandchild Jack Garton; niece Amy Ellison and her family; and nephew Chris Bobbitt. She is preceded in death by her late husband Donnie Mitchell; father Eugene Crotts; mother Juanita Wall; and sister Cindy Bobbitt; and devoted partner Charles Fann. She is also survived by Alex's girlfriend Gracie and Tonya's partner Michael, who were honorary members of her family.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on July 24th, 2024, starting at 4:00 PM at Mountview Baptist Church at 12545 Old Hickory Boulevard, Antioch, TN, 37013. The gathering will be an opportunity to honor Mary's life filled with love and cherished memories. Food and drink will be available afterwards.

Mary will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love she shared and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by many.
