Mary Harper

Mary Moore Lassiter Harper, Preceded in death by husband Walter “Doc” Harper, parents Mary Moore and King Lassiter, brothers Robert Oliver, Rufus, David, and Jimmy. Mary and Doc were Bethpage natives and graduates of Gallatin High School. They moved to Goodlettsville and started a family in the early 1950’s. Mary and Doc both worked for Quality Aluminum Products. Doc passed away in 1962, and Mary continued to work for Quality Aluminum. Mary went to flower design school in 1974 and eventually bought Becky’s Flower Shop and remained there until she retired in 1986. She then got a part-time job at the Bank of Goodlettsville, and worked there for several years. She leaves a daughter Kathy Chrestman and sons Walt and George (Cindy) Harper, grandchildren Trey, Kyle and Cory Chrestman, Megan and Mary Elizabeth Harper, great-grandchildren Karoline and Hailey Chrestman. Mary was loved by her family and all who knew her.Visitation with the family will be held at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Graveside service will be held at Gallatin City Cemetery on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00 with Pastor Paul Gardner officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Connell Memorial UMC, 113 Church St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072
