From there she went to work at several Nashville hospitals and retired from Vanderbilt in 1994, after dedicating over forty-five years to the profession.
Mary loved gardening, read avidly, relished moments with family and friends, and was an ardent Titans fan. She loved Davidson County, desiring to live her life entirely in Nashville. She was an active member of First Southern Methodist Church for almost sixty years.
