Matthew Scott Spears, born on October 16, 1996, in Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a vibrant soul whose presence brought light and joy to those around him.
Matthew's education culminated in his graduation from high school in 2016, during which he cultivated many friendships that would last a lifetime. He was known for his infectious smile and laughter, traits that endeared him to all who met him. He had a unique and special energy that filled every room, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his friends and family.
Those who knew Matthew would describe him as a confident individual with a pure spirit. He was open-minded and inherently good, always approaching life with grace and positivity. Even in times of illness, Matthew faced challenges without complaint, exemplifying an extraordinary level of strength and resilience. He was a very content person.
Matthew possessed a passion for gaming, often delighting in conversations with friends through his headset. His interest in anime also revealed a creative side that he embraced wholeheartedly.
He leaves behind his loving family: his father Calvin Spears, stepmother Tammy Spears, mother Joni Huneycutt, brother Brandon Spears, sister Destiny Marie Wells, and many other relatives who will cherish his memory.
Matthew is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James O. Price, maternal grandmother, Gladys Price, paternal grandfather, Calvin C. Spears, and paternal grandmother, Avis J. Hill.
