Michael J."Mike" Nicholson, age 76, of Murfreesboro, TN died December 6, 2018 from complications of pneumonia/sepsis. He was born in Akron, OH, April 17, 1942 to John Halley & Margaret Glancy Nicholson. He is survived by wife of 55 years, Shirley Zema Nicholson; children: Lisa (Rick) Rush, Greg Nicholson, and Lori (Ron) Yoders; grandchildren: Ethan & Garrett Rush; Mia, Noah & Zoe Nicholson; Austin, Cole & Ty Yoders; sister, Sally (Don) Herforth of Venice, FL and brother, Terry (Linda) Nicholson of Dublin, OH. Mike attended St. Augustine elementary and Barberton High School in Barberton, OH. He was employed by Bridgestone/Firestone in LaVergne, TN and Akron, OH and retired after 37 years of service. He enjoyed reading, bocce, bridge, storytelling, vacationing in Destin, FL, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Receiving of friends will be held at 9:00 am Saturday December 29, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 1601 North Tennessee Blvd., Murfreesboro, TN. A Celebration of Life mass will begin at 10:00 am with lunch following. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to St. Jude.org or Catholic Charities of TN.
