Michael Waldrep

Michael Scott Waldrep, age 50, of Columbia, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016, at Maury Regional Medical Center.A native of Maury County, Michael was the son of James Donald Waldrep, of Columbia, and the late Virginia Katherine Waldrep, who passed away December 2009.
Michael was a graduate of Columbia State and received his certification as a veterinary assistant.For those who knew him, Michael was a gift from Heaven. No matter how he felt, or what he was experiencing, he was smiling and being a blessing to those around him. He simply loved people. Michael could be found sitting in the front yard waving at those who drove by, or on Sundays you were sure to find him in the foyer of the Maury Hills Church, greeting visitors and members with a smile, kind word and weekly bulletin.In addition to his mother, Michael was preceded in death by his sister: Lisa Waldrep Russell, in 1999.
He is survived by his father: Donald Waldrep of Columbia; nephews: Benji (Jacklyn) Russell, Brandon Russell and Daniel Russell; and his miniature pincher: Hondo. Celebration services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Friday, February 19 at Maury Hills Church, officiated by Bro. Russ Adcox. The family will visit with friends from 1:00pm until the service.
