Michèle Dominique Gatlin, age 58, passed away on April 25, 2022 in Nashville, TN.
Michèle was born in Saint-Benoit-La-Forét, France. She graduated in 1981 from Northwest High School in Clarksville, TN. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Austin Peay State University in 1987 and a Master of Education from Trevecca University in 1996. She taught French and ESL for over 30 years.
Michèle is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Raymonde Gatlin; her sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Jim Ozment, her nieces, Kelly and Laura Ozment, and her loyal canine companion, Teddy, all of Nashville, TN.
Michèle was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher. Her joy, kindness, and enthusiasm will be missed tremendously by everyone who knew her. She lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. She loved to travel and to host family gatherings at her home, especially birthdays and Christmas Eve. She loved early morning walks with her sister, home projects with her brother-in-law, Sunday afternoon coffee with her parents, visits with her nieces, and long evening walks with Teddy.
She also loved teaching her ESL students from all over the world. Helping them learn English, integrate into American society, and become productive members of their communities gave her great joy.
A remembrance of Michèle’s life will be held at a later date, and the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Nashville Humane Association, Overton High School, or the American Cancer Society.
