Monty Lewis

October 12, 1964 — February 20, 2015

Mr. Geoffrey Lamont "Monty" Lewis, age 50 of Nashville, passed away February 20, 2015 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage. Monty was born October 12, 1964 in Nashville and was the son of Hugh X. and Ann Lewis. He had been employed as a Crew Chief with Coastal Trade Shows, setting up displays around the country. Shortly after his brother, Lance, passed away, Monty left his travel job to move in with, and care for, his parents. In his spare time he worked through his own company doing small jobs around homes for the public. Monty will be remembered for many things. He had a quirky sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and stories, always embellished with character voices to enhance the experience. He was artistic and musical, yet tender and compassionate. He was also loyal, keeping in touch with his life-long friends from childhood. His brother Lance was his hero, and Monty's life changed when Lance passed away. Although Monty never married, he loved his family and friends, and held those relationships close to his heart. His family will celebrate his life on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Tulip Grove Baptist Church, 563 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138. He is survived by his parents: Hugh X. and Ann Lewis; a sister: Saundra Lewis Taylor; nephew: Zachary Scott Taylor; niece: Brooke Taylor (Jake) Tometich; and great-nephew: Lyndon Tometich. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Tulip Grove Baptist Church. NASHVILLE FUNERAL AND CREMATION 615-256-1605
